Sterilization indicator tape is an auxiliary tool designed to contain chemical indicators that help confirm the effectiveness of sterilization. It is made from pressure-sensitive paper printed with chemical indicator ink. This ink changes color under specific conditions of temperature and humidity to confirm whether the established parameters of sterilization have been met.
Sterilization indicator tape provides users with a visual display of sterilization effectiveness to ensure that the required standards are achieved. It can be divided into steam, EO gas, and plasma according to the sterilization methods. Usage is very simple: just fix the indicator tape on the package of the items to be sterilized before sterilization. In the process of sterilization, the color of the tape will be changed, and while the color reaches the corresponding color, the sterilization will be completed. The change of color is irreversible, which means it cannot be reused to avoid safety incidents.
Usage Requirements
- Indicator tape is pre-treated differently for various methods of sterilization. Sterilization indicator tape appropriate for the method selected must be chosen. Indicators reflecting sterilization conditions are those that provide the desired accuracy.
- The tape has an expiration date; using expired products may lead to incorrect sterilization results. It is important to choose effective indicator tape that is within its expiration date.
- Generally, results should be read after the sterilization process is complete and the tape has returned to room temperature.

121℃ autoclavable steam sterile for 15-20 min
134℃ autoclavable steam sterile for 3-5min
